■ [ 05 · Governance ]

Changed in the open, by proposal.

Major changes to the network's structure, its governance and the token economics of HONEY are made through Map Improvement Proposals — MIPs.

[ How a MIP works ]

  1. 01 — Propose Anyone can propose Have an idea? Vet it with the Hivemapper community first.
  2. 02 — Publish On the Foundation blog The initial proposal is published on the Hivemapper Foundation blog.
  3. 03 — Comment Community input The community weighs in across social platforms such as Discord.
  4. 04 — Decide Finalize, modify or abandon Every proposal ends in one of three outcomes, on the record.

A notice-and-comment process, like Bitcoin's BIPs. Longer term, governance may grow to include voting.
